Wisteria

The beauty of wisteria blooms is almost blinding. I had to pull over to breathe it in.

My wisteria is always late blooming because our property faces north. The old vine forsook its original support (the eaves of the pump house) to chase better sun at the top of a nearby sycamore. We tried to retrain the wild thing, but it insists on the sun it gets up there.

“…just when your regrets are the strongest the wisteria comes into bloom…” (Murasaki Shikibu)
