Onward and Outward.
I snuck outside for a walk during a lull between storms, to find giant vultures soaring over the fields, drying their wings.
Vultures don’t hunt, but feed on dead animals. This special role in the cycle of life, death, and regeneration makes the vulture not a symbol of death, but of rebirth. It’s even said that vultures carry messages between the physical world and the spirit world.
All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier.
(Walt Whitman)
