California oak savanna.
Many years ago, when I came to California from upstate New York, I fell head-over-heels in love with California’s oak savanna grasslands. At that time I drew them as large pastels. As I expand my hikes to new-to-me trails, these images sweetly remind me of that work.
Here in California
The fruit hangs heavy on the vine
There's no gold, I thought I'd warn ya
And the hills turn brown in the summertime
