Turkey vultures

They look so beautiful in flight, riding on the air currents.

We hurried down to the corral because several giant vultures were resting on the fences in our yard. I’d never seen them so close. We’ve been treating a goat for a bacterial infection and worried he’d died. But whew! he was quite alive, and looking more frisky since the vet had been by to give him an antibiotic shot. About a dozen of these huge birds took off when we came near, and I did what I could to capture the sight.
